OCC utilizes a wide range of state-of-the-art numerical wave modeling tools that span MIKE21 , STWAVE, and CGWAVE. Wave models can perform hind casting and forecasting of storm events which are essential in order to understand the wave climate at the desired location and to provide an adequate and economical design. The numerical models facilitate analysis and simulation of complex wave climate during storms and typical conditions by assessing wind wind wave generation and propagation, swell propagation, wave transformation, as well as wave refraction and diffraction around structures. These simulations consider atmospheric wind forcing, nonlinear wave interactions, and frictional dissipation as waves travel towards the structure site.
