OCC celebrates its 30th year in business under the leadership of John Chapman

Ocean and Coastal Consultants (OCC) celebrates its 30th year in business under new leadership. John E. Chapman, P.E., P.Eng. is now the new president of OCC effective January 1, 2013.

John has been an integral part of OCC's development over the past 27 years, most recently as Vice President and Corporate Secretary/Treasurer, overseeing the daily management of operations, strategies, and business planning. His leadership skills and engineering expertise will advance OCC in today’s challenging Marine engineering environment. John is an expert in port and harbor engineering including the regulatory issues affecting coastal projects, oil terminals, and dredging of ports. 

 

Steady Growth

OCC has realized steady growth by focusing on the development of quality staff, challenging projects, and key client relationships where OCC is a holistic partner. John will continue this vision of customer service and world-class engineering and will further this vision through expansion of services and staff growth. 


Vice Presidents

OCC’s strength is deep and John’s experience, skills and knowledge will be complimented by Vice Presidents Joseph Marrone, P.E., and Stephen Famularo, P.E., as well as a core group of dedicated people who have helped to create a cohesive and strong leadership over the past several years.


COWI North America

Starting in 2013 the new organization set-up for COWI North America will be fully implemented and John reports to the President of COWI North America, Steve Hunt.

 

Previous President - Stan White, P.E. P.Eng., D.CE, D.PE

Stan White, company founder and past OCC President, shifts roles to become an OCC Principal with his primary responsibilities moving from management to client relationships and project engineering. Stan is currently deeply involved with offshore wind projects and the significant work that OCC is performing on Governors Island for the Trust for Governors Island and the City of New York. His new position will allow him to work with OCC's many clients by providing cost-effective engineering for their waterfront projects.
